What is the purpose of racing the a1 Car ?

I opened the A1 car in the VS mode and isn't his car supposed to get better everytime you play it ?
, It doesn't get anybetter I beat it everytime,
The Instruction Manual doesn't give any instructions on
what you are supposed to do either. I guess since it is a hidden feature.
I raced the VS A1 for several days now in Normal Mode and
A1 mode I beat the car easily evertime, What am I doing wromg ?
Anyone ?
